The international journal Production Planning & Control was created by members of the Working Group, with the first editor being Professor Asbjorn Rolstadas. The journal has grown in importance in the field of production and operations management. It publishes research that can be used by managers in industry, research and case studies that test existing research and develop the agenda for future research, and research material that can be applied by software producers in the field of operations management. The journal is led by industrial need not a particular academic discipline and welcomes papers from engineering, management and business schools besides companies themselves.
